What is Sex Therapy?

Sex therapy is a unique and specialized form of professional counseling designed to help women and men address their concerns about sexuality, sexual function, and sexual expression. While other issues may arise during therapy, these are some of the most common problems addressed in confidence with total confidentiality during our sessions:

  • Sexual desire or frequency discrepancies

  • Arousal or inability to reach orgasm

  • Sexual anxieties and inhibitions

  • Painful intercourse

  • Sexual identity or orientation issues

  • Premature ejaculation (rapid ejaculation)

  • Erection problems

  • Medical problems affecting sex

  • Unusual sexual desires or behavior issues related to sexual expression or function

Like any therapeutic experience, sex therapy involves talking, listening, and education. I work with you in a private, comfortable setting. As you sit on the couch to talk, we will identify and clarify your concerns. During therapy, I will provide you with relevant sexual information, which might include conversations about anatomy, physical response, and healthy sexual behavior.
Our therapy sessions will never involve any form of sexual or other inappropriate physical contact or the performance of any sexual activity. You will feel supported and respected at all times.

Sex coaching is a professional service aimed at enhancing one's sexual well-being, where the focus is on education, empowerment, and practical guidance. Unlike sex therapy, which often delves into psychological and emotional aspects of sexual issues, sex coaching concentrates on the present and future aspects of sexual health and satisfaction. Here's what you need to know about sex coaching:

Educational Guidance: Sex coaching provides comprehensive information and instruction on various aspects of sexuality, including anatomy, arousal, pleasure, and sexual techniques. The goal is to expand your knowledge and skills to improve your sexual experiences.

Goal Setting and Achievement: A sex coach works with you to identify specific sexual goals or desires, whether it's improving intimacy in a relationship, enhancing sexual confidence, or exploring new dimensions of your sexuality. Together, you'll develop a personalized plan to achieve these goals through actionable steps.

Practical Strategies: Sex coaching offers practical advice and strategies to overcome challenges and enhance your sexual life. This might include communication techniques, mindfulness practices, or exercises to do alone or with a partner to improve sexual function and enjoyment.

Empowerment: A key aspect of sex coaching is empowerment. Your coach supports you in making informed decisions about your sexual health and encourages you to explore your sexuality in a safe, positive, and healthy manner.

Sex coaching is suitable for individuals and couples of all sexual orientations and identities. Whether you're looking to solve a specific problem or simply wish to enhance your sexual life, a sex coach can provide valuable support and guidance.

Sex coaching is about moving forward with confidence in your sexual journey. It's an investment in your personal growth and sexual fulfillment, offering tailored support to help you live your best sexual life.

At Atlanta Sex Therapy, our sex coaches are dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized coaching to help you achieve your sexual wellness goals. If you're ready to take the next step toward a more satisfying sexual life, we're here to guide you every step of the way.

What is Sex Coaching?

How Much Will It Cost?

The cost will vary depending on your needs, choice of therapist, and availability for your sessions. We have a therapist for every budget. We don’t want cost to be a barrier for treatment.

What Can I Expect on My First Visit?

During our first session, We’ll explain the therapeutic process, go over your paperwork,  and we will ask you about the problems and pains that bring you into therapy.

How Long is a Session?

An individual session typically lasts for 50 -60 minutes and couples are given 75 -90 minutes to ensure both parties are afforded the opportunity to completely express their feelings, thoughts, and wishes.

What if I am Single? Can I Still Come See You?

YES. Many singles are finding sex therapy and/or sex coaching helpful to either figure out the last relationship or prepare for their next.  Often times it can be easier to figure out intimacy issues when there is less pressure to be intimate with someone.

What if My Significant Other Doesn't Want to Come?

That is ok and perfectly normal. Many individuals seek counseling without their partners. It allows them space and freedom to talk about their relationship and their needs without repercussions in a supportive non-judgmental environment.

How Many Sex Therapy Sessions Will I Need?

Each client is different and therapy/coaching is tailored to meet your specific needs. On average, the length of counseling usually runs from about 12 to 24 sessions.
